Bloemfontein - A 25-year-old Dewetsdorp man has been arrested in connection with the rape of a six-year-old girl, Free State police said on Wednesday.
Spokesman Sergeant Yanga Ngcukana, said the man was taken into custody at his house on Tuesday.
The victim told her aunt about the crime that happened on Tuesday at the man's house. Police said the man called the girl into his room and promised her sweets before he allegedly raped her.
She was taken to a doctor, who confirmed a crime had been committed.
The man would appear in the Dewetsdorp Magistrate's Court on Thursday. - Sapa
