Johannesburg - A man has been arrested for murder and robbery in Extension Seven, Ivory Park, Gauteng police said on Wednesday.

The 33-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, Captain Doniah Mothutsane said.

He shot dead a 24-year-old man last week and stole an undisclosed amount of money from a local tuckshop, Mothutsane said. The firearm used was also seized.

The man also shot dead another person and wounded two people while they were closing their tuckshop in November, Mothutsane said.

“A woman, her son and their employer were shot... inside their car by the alleged suspect.”

The employer died on the scene and the other two were taken to a nearby hospital.

The man would appear soon in the Tembisa Magistrate's Court.
