Butterworth, Eastern Cape - A 39-year-old man facing 33 charges, including rape and murder, appeared in the Butterworth Magistrate's Court on Friday, Eastern Cape police said.

Captain Jackson Manatha said Bulelani Mabhayi was expected back in court on October 18. The case was postponed for further investigations.

“Mabhayi was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly murdered 55-year-old Boniswa Lubambo in her sleep on Saturday at the R1 Location, Tholeni Village.”

Manatha said the charges included murder, rapes and housebreakings, crimes which he allegedly committed since 2007. - Sapa
