Johannesburg – A man believed to be in his 30s was left seriously injured on Thursday morning after an apparent hit-and-run on Jan Smuts Drive in Craighall, Johannesburg, ER24 said.
ER24 said paramedics arrived on the scene to find the man lying in the left-hand lane of the road. "Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition and they treated the man and provided him with several advanced life support interventions.
"Once treated, the man was transported to Helen Joseph Hospital for urgent treatment," said ER24.
Witnesses on scene said that the man had been knocked over by a taxi and dragged underneath. The taxi then apparently drove away. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
