Tzaneen - A man was jailed for 25 years on Wednesday for raping and murdering a child, Limpopo police said.

Leave Sekomane, 35, was sentenced by the Tzaneen High Court for raping and murdering a five-year-old girl in October 2010, Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said.

“The mutilated body of the girl was found lying in the bushes near Pharane village in the Maake area.”

Sekomane grabbed the girl as she was walking along a road. He dragged her into bushes, and raped and killed her. - Sapa
