Stilfontein - A man was stabbed to death in the early hours of Saturday morning in Khuma near Stilfontein, North West police said.

The 22-year-old was at a night vigil when he decided to go out and buy cigarettes, Captain Pelonomi Makau said.

When he arrived back at the night vigil he collapsed. He had been stabbed on the left side of his chest.

It was alleged that the man was murdered by members of a gang operating in the township, said Makau.

No arrests have been made. - Sapa
