Limpopo - A man facing charges of operating a bogus college in Limpopo has been linked to another unregistered college, police said on Sunday.

Another fraud charge was added to Hangwani Mukwevho's case on Saturday after it was established he was the owner of the Kgapane FET College, which was not registered with the education department, Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said.

“The charge was added just hours after Mukwevho was remanded in custody by the Seshego Magistrate's Court for a similar case on Friday.”

Police recovered suspected fraudulent documents which indicated that the college, which started is operations in 2010, was also registered as the Bela Bela Technical College.

Mukwevho, 57, was arrested a fortnight ago along with his wife, Olebile Monica Mukwevho, 45, and business associate Avhapfani Dalton Mululuma, 31.

They were charged with fraud after it was established they were running the Seshego Further Education and Training College without registering it with the education department.

The three applied for bail in the Seshego Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Police urged all previous and current students of both the Seshego and Kgapane FET colleges to go to their nearest police station and furnish their particulars. This would help police determine the number of students affected.

The three would be back in court on Wednesday. - Sapa
