Meadowlands, Soweto - A Soweto man handed himself to police on Tuesday for the murder of a man in Meadowlands.

Spokesman Constable Sibusiso Chauke said the 36-year-old went to his ex-girlfriend's house on Saturday morning and found her with another man.

“He then assaulted both with an axe and the woman collapsed. When she managed to wake up she found that the suspect was trying to wake up the deceased,” he said in a statement.

“When he realised that the other man was dead, he took his axe and ran away. Police were called and a case of murder was opened.”
