Johannesburg - A 28-year-old man was shot dead in Soweto, Gauteng police said on Wednesday.

Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said the man and five others went to a house in Jabulani on Tuesday, after they heard that the owner was looking for them.

“On arrival the owner took his gun and fired shots at them. One man was fatally wounded and the rest managed to run away.”

He said the home owner suspected that the men had broken into his house.
