Durban - A man was critically injured after being stabbed in Marion Ridge, Pinetown, on Sunday, paramedics in KwaZulu-Natal said.

The man, in his 20s, was found lying on the ground after midday, Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said.

“Advanced life support paramedics resuscitated the man and managed to get his heart beating again,” he said.

“The patient was placed on a ventilator and under the constant care of the Netcare advanced life support paramedic, they transported him to a hospital in Chatsworth for emergency surgery.”

Botha said he was stabbed with a sharp object.
