Roodepoort - A metro police officer was arrested for allegedly taking a bribe of R20 from a taxi driver in Roodepoort on Thursday, Johannesburg metro police said.
“The officer, said to have 15 years' service, was working alone, which made the investigative unit suspicious,” Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said.
The unit watched the officer from a distance and saw him take a R20 note from a taxi driver. The taxi driver admitted to handing over the money.
Minnaar said the officer would be charged, and face internal disciplinary action. - Sapa
