On Sundaycrack detectives from all specialised units, including the Hawks, will meet at the house in Vosloorus where former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates captain Senzo Meyiwa was killed more than a year ago, with the aim of reconstructing the crime scene.

Those expected to be present include ballistics expert Superintendent Chris Mangena, who made headlines when he testified as an expert witness for the State during the Oscar Pistorius murder trial.

Weekend Argus sister title The Sunday Independent has reliably learnt everyone present in the house during the incident on the night of Sunday, October 26, 2014, has been summoned to attend.

Those present that night included Meyiwa’s girlfriend Kelly Khumalo and her sister Zandi, the son of music producer Chicco Twala, Longwe, and the goalkeeper’s friends Tumelo Madladla and Mthokozisi Twala.

Meyiwa was shot dead at the family home of Khumalo, in what was described as a robbery after two men entered the house and demanded cellphones, money and other valuables.

When Meyiwa allegedly tried to protect his girlfriend a bullet reportedly went through his back, exiting through his chest. He died at the scene.

Approached for comment, police spokesman Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi could neither deny nor confirm the meeting today, saying only that they did not comment on operational matters.
