Free State - A miner charged with illegally trying to sell explosives will appear in the Theunissen Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, Free State police said.

Captain Stephen Thakeng said Khutlang John Moseane was expected to apply for bail.

Moseane, 34, who works at a mine in Theunissen, was arrested in a police trap at a mine hostel, allegedly while in possession of explosives, said Thakeng.

The police confiscated 10 blasting cartridges and 12 connector capped fuses, he said.

Moseane was charged with dealing in explosives, possession of explosives, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm and resisting arrest. - Sapa
