A man was arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend and burying her body in his yard in Ogies on Saturday, Mpumalanga police said.

Colonel Leonard Hlathi said the 34-year-old man allegedly stabbed the 26-year-old woman to death on Sunday last week.

He allegedly kept the body in his house for four days then buried the woman's body in a shelter in his yard.

“Police arrived to find a fresh heap of soil where he had buried her,” said Hlathi.

The man was arrested and would appear in the Ogies Magistrate's Court on Monday. - Sapa
