A 27-year-old woman has been arrested for the alleged murder of her three-year-old son at Ntshatshongo, near Willowvale, Eastern Cape police said on Monday.
“It is alleged that the three-year-old deceased was sleeping with her mother (who is now the suspect) on the night of Saturday at their home, which is at Ntshatshongo Location, Willowvale,” said Captain Jackson Manatha.
He said family members found the deceased bleeding and already dead on the Sunday morning, and police suspect the mother beat the young boy to death.
“The 27-year-old mother of the deceased was arrested and charged for murder, as she was the only person who was sleeping with the infant.” - Sapa
