Johannesburg - The case of two people accused of killing a man and leaving his body in the boot of a car at Montecasino, Johannesburg, has been postponed to March 26.

The matter was postponed in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Thursday for further investigation and for a bail application.

Prosecutor Yusuf Baba told the court the State had no problem with the two accused applying for bail.

However, he reminded the court that the case was complex and could not be resolved speedily.

“This is a very complex murder. It's not a straight forward murder case. It can never be completed in a short period of time,” said Baba.

Jean-Pierre Malan and his girlfriend Maruschka Robinson, a former stripper, face murder charges after Dustan Blom's decomposing body was found in the boot of his own car in the parking garage at the entertainment venue in September. He was found after security guards noticed a bad smell coming from the car.

Robinson was arrested on September 24, and Malan on September 26. At their previous court appearance, Malan's lawyer Shaun Hamilton said his client would provide blood and handwriting samples. - Sapa
