Johannesburg - A 32-year-old man arrested in connection with the man found dead in a car boot at Montecasino in Fourways was due to appear in court on Friday, Johannesburg police said.
The man was the second to be arrested following the arrest of Maruschka Robinson, who appeared at the same court on Wednesday. She was remanded in custody until October 2.
The two were arrested after Dustan Blom's decomposing body was found in the boot of his own car on Sunday around 1pm after security guards noticed a bad smell coming from it.
Robinson, 24, a former employee at a strip club, appeared in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court the day after her arrest and will remain in custody until her next court appearance on Wednesday.
Gauteng police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said the motive for Blom’s murder was still unknown.
Blom, 36, was last seen leaving The Dros in Olivedale with an unknown woman on September 17.
He had allegedly offered to give her a lift home.
According to a missing person report, the tracking device in his Nissan QashQai had been deactivated and his cellphone turned off.
He was murdered and dumped in his own car. Robbery might have been the motive.
