Former Bafana Bafana soccer player Bryce Moon's case was postponed in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

The matter was postponed until Thursday as magistrate Vincent Pienaar was sick.

Moon was expected to make an application to have charges against him withdrawn, the Sowetan reported.

The 27-year-old soccer player faces charges of murder, alternatively attempted murder, drunken driving, alternatively drunken driving, and reckless or negligent driving.

Moon allegedly hit and killed domestic worker Mavis Ncube while she was walking to work with her cousin in Sandhurst, Johannesburg in 2009.

Ncube died in hospital from what testifying paramedics called severe injuries sustained in the accident.

Charges against Moon were previously withdrawn, but were reinstated in April last year. - Sapa
