Johannesburg - Six vehicle examiners were arrested in Boksburg on Thursday on several counts of corruption, Gauteng police said.
Captain Paul Ramaloko said the group, aged between 24 and 42, were allegedly issuing roadworthy certificates for vehicles they had not tested.
“They appeared in the Johannesburg Specialised Crimes Court and were released on bail of R2000 each.”
The case would continue on February 26.
This was the second group of vehicle examiners to be arrested in Gauteng this week. Three others were nabbed on the same charges at the Viking testing station in Devland, Johannesburg, on Wednesday.
“They appeared in court yesterday (Wednesday) and were released on R3000 bail (each),” he said.
