Pretoria - Prosecutor Gerrie Nel on Monday interrupted questioning of a witness by Oscar Pistorius's lawyer Barry Roux in the High Court in Pretoria.
“She's answered this question already... at least five times. We should really move on,” Nel told the court after rising from his chair.
Roux was asking Michelle Burger whether she heard Pistorius breaking down the door of his toilet with a cricket bat on the morning of February 14 last year.
Burger insisted she only heard gunshots, not a cricket bat striking a door.
Pistorius sat listening attentively to Burger's replies.
“I started music from very young, I hear rhythm very well. I am sure I heard gunshots,” Burger testified in English, having given up on her Afrikaans translator.
Burger lives in the Silver Stream estate, about 170m from Pistorius's home in the neighbouring Silver Woods Country Estate.
Pistorius is accused of the premeditated murder of his girlfriend, law graduate and model Steenkamp, of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, and recklessly discharging a firearm in public.
His lawyers will argue that he mistook her for an intruder when he shot her through the toilet door of his home.
