The driver of the truck that collided with a train in Mpumalanga, killing 26 workers, will be back in court on Tuesday for his bail application, police said.
George Mandlazi, 32, appeared in the Tonga Magistrate's Court on Monday, spokesman Colonel Leonard Hlathi said.
“The matter was postponed to Tuesday for his formal bail application.”
Twenty-six people were killed and several others injured when a truck carrying farm workers on the N4 collided with the train at a level crossing between Malelane and Hectorspruit around 7am on Friday.
Provincial community safety department spokesman Joseph Mabuza said on Friday the train dragged the truck for about 200 metres, leaving bodies with limbs missing scattered on the ground.
