Nelspruit -

The bodies of a municipal manager and a woman were found covered with rubbish in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga police said on Monday.

Colonel Leonard Hlathi said the bodies of Joshua Maseko, 37, and Nelisiwe Mzamo, 27, were found on Sunday near a park.

Maseko had been hit with a sharp object and police believed the woman was strangled.

Maseko was the acting municipal manager at the Dipaleseng Municipality.

Hlathi said the motive for the killings was not known. - Sapa
