The arrest of the man suspected of orchestrating a gruesome assault on his estranged wife and killing his teenage stepson in Modimolle, is imminent, Limpopo police said on Monday.
“We are on the brink of a breakthrough, arrest is imminent,” Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said of Johan Kotze.
“It is a matter of time,” he said.
Earlier on Monday, police involved the Hawks and crime intelligence in the search.
“The hunt is now on the heels of the man, but I cannot disclose further information as this might jeopardise the investigation.”
Kotze, 50, reportedly forced three men, believed to be his workers, to assault his estranged wife at his Modimolle home last Tuesday. According to news and police reports, Kotze also lured his 19-year-old stepson to the house and shot and killed him when he arrived.
Mulaudzi said Kotze's personal details indicate he was born in Namibia.
He said the woman was discharged from hospital on Monday. The Star newspaper reported on Monday that international police organisation Interpol had also been asked to help in the hunt for Kotze. - Sapa
