KwaZulu-Natal - A suspected murderer who had been on the run for four months has been arrested in Ngwelezane, near Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old was arrested on Monday afternoon after he allegedly shot and killed Njabulo Zulu, 38, at the KwaMashu men's hostel on July 29, Captain Thulani Zwane said. He was shot once in the head.

Police received a tip-off that he was in the Mtubatuba area for the Christmas holidays.

Investigations led police to the Ngwelezane area, where he was arrested. He was expected to appear in the Ntuzuma Magistrate's Court soon to face a charge of murder. - Sapa
