Johannesburg - A businessman found dead in Soweto on Thursday has been named as First Tech Group chairman Jeffery Wiggill, police said.

The 59-year-old Wiggill was found next to his car along Randfontein Road with bullet wounds to his head, said Captain Augustinah Selepe.

His wallet and cellphone were missing, and the motive for the killing was unknown.

Police had opened a murder and armed robbery docket.

Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said police spotted the car while on patrol in the area. - Sapa
