Musina protesters arrested

A total of 21 people were arrested early on Friday after a violent protest in Musina, Limpopo police said.

They would be charged with public violence and malicious damage to property, Lieutenant-Colonel Ronel Otto said.

Residents began protesting on Wednesday, demanding the resignation of the mayor and his council. Two police vehicles were set alight and several others damaged.

Those arrested were expected to appear in the Musina Magistrate's Court on Monday. Sapa
