Cape Town – Mystery surrounds the fatal shooting of a mother, 43, and her son, 21, in Kraaifontein on Saturday morning.
The woman's 14-year twins were also wounded in the incident.
Western Cape police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said the shooting took place at 6am at Bernadino Heights in Orange Street.
He could not confirm speculation that the mother shot dead her son before turning the gun on herself.
A murder, attempted murder and inquest case is being investigated.
