Durban - A Phoenix bus owner found his wife dead in a pool of blood on Friday night in their Kylemore Close home.

Selvarani ‘Baby’ Naidoo, 50, of Kylemore Close in Phoenix, was assaulted and stabbed said police spokesperson, Major Thulani Zwane.

Sellamaya Naidoo, owner of RnS Transport, walked into the yard and found the house security gate opened and blood on the floor in the kitchen. His wife was found on the floor in a bedroom.

A reliable source said her cellphone and house key were on the kitchen floor. The source said there seemed to be a struggle in the main bedroom of the house, where a small pool of blood was found on the duvet.

The source said Naidoo could have stumbled through the lounge and kitchen before collapsing in the bedroom. It is alleged she was stabbed in the neck. The source said the house was not ransacked and nothing appeared to be stolen.

Glen Naidoo, of KZN VIP Security, said she was dead before paramedics arrived at the scene. “The victim had sadly not shown any vital signs and the body was cold when we arrived. She was stabbed multiple times. We believe she may have known her killer,” Naidoo said.

Her husband and their three sons were too distraught to speak to the media.

Naidoo’s body was cremated at the Verulam Crematorium on Sunday.

A case of murder was opened, but police have not made any arrests as yet.
