Durban socialite Rajiv Narandas, who is involved in a legal spat with his mother’s business partner, Marco Accolla, said he has no intention of paying Accolla to settle his dispute.

This was after a Durban newspaper reported on Thursday that Narandas had agreed to pay R45 000 towards Accolla’s legal costs.

“I never agreed to pay him (Accolla) anything. I have no intention of paying him anything,” Narandas told the Daily News on Thursday.

Last month Accolla brought an urgent application in the Durban High Court banning Narandas from all his business premises and his homes.

The order also interdicts Narandas, who has been convicted of attempted murder, from contacting Accolla or his staff, either directly or indirectly.

It had been reported that an order was granted, by consent, that Narandas pay R45 000 towards Accolla’s legal costs.

But Narandas’s lawyer, Zane Haneef, said that one of the terms of the settlement agreement was that it remain private and confidential.

He said the attorneys were still dealing with the matter.

Accolla could not be reached for comment. - Daily News
