Durban businessman Rajiv Narandas will pay R45 000 towards the legal costs of his mothers business partner Marco Accolla.

Durban businessman Rajiv Narandas has agreed to pay R45 000 towards the legal costs of his mother’s business partner, Marco Accolla.

This is after Accolla brought an urgent application in the Durban High Court in May banning Narandas from all his business premises – five Ooh La La clothing boutiques – and from entering his two homes.

Accolla and Rosanne Narandas (Rajiv’s mother) work together on the running of the Ooh La La stores.

The order also interdicts Narandas from contacting Accolla or his staff, either directly or indirectly. This week the application was adjourned indefinitely, with an order taken, by consent, that Narandas pay towards Accolla’s legal costs.

Narandas was convicted of the attempted murder of Lance Moodley last year and is also on trial in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court in Joburg for the murder of Veenand Singh. He is out on bail for the murder charge.

In his affidavit, Accolla said Narandas had gone to one of his businesses in Mayville and demanded access to the premises.

He also said Narandas had made threatening gestures towards his manageress and had attempted to remove boxes of stock from the property.

Accolla claimed Narandas’ actions were due to his alleged feud with his mother, Rosanne.

Narandas disputed the allegations and claimed that he had also obtained a peace order against Accolla.

He also denied that his relationship with his mother had soured.
