Parliament, Cape Town - The appointment of a new Special Investigating Unit head is “imminent”, Justice Minister Jeff Radebe said on Tuesday, after President Jacob Zuma missed a month-end deadline to fill the post.
“I can only say it is imminent. it is imminent. That I know for sure,” Radebe told Parliament's portfolio committee on justice.
The corruption-fighting unit has been without a permanent head for 14 months after Judge Willem Heath resigned in late 2011, a fortnight after he was appointed. - Sapa
