Pretoria - The public protector's team is to review the response of security cluster ministers to her provisional report on the security upgrade of President Jacob Zuma's private Nkandla homestead in KwaZulu-Natal.

Where considered reasonable the report would be altered, Public Protector Thuli Madonsela told reporters in Pretoria.

“I will invite the ministers to nominate security experts from within government to meet me in my offices to discuss the contended issues... without showing them the report,” she said.

“I will thereafter apply my mind and make a decision.”

Madonsela was speaking after the security cluster of ministers submitted a 28-page response to her provisional report on the R206 million security upgrade.

She received the submission from Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa on behalf of the security cluster of ministers on Friday.

Madonsela said she would discuss whatever issues remained with selected independent experts.

The report would then be shared with the interested parties.

“I will then release the report in a manner I deem fit,” she said. - Sapa
