Rustenburg - No arrest has yet been made in connection with the murder of North West businessman Wandile Bozwana, Gauteng police said on Saturday.

“No one has been arrested. Investigations continue,” said Sergeant Asnath Malatji.

The Mahikeng-born businessman was fatally wounded when gunmen fired at him in Garsfontein, east of Pretoria, on Friday afternoon, in what was believed to be a hit. He died later in hospital.

The attackers fired into the passenger-side where he was seated before fleeing the scene. Bozwana was in the passenger seat and his female colleague was driving the car. She sustained minor injuries. Bozwana took the provincial government to court on numerous occasions.

Last month he won a court case to attach a state bank account with a R30-million balance and 44 vehicles belonging to the North West public works department, over a disputed payment.

The provincial government took the case to the Constitutional Court, arguing that the court order attaching the provincial bank account had a negative effect on service delivery.
