Johannesburg - No arrests have been made following the murder of a friend of former radio presenter, Mark Pilgrim, police said on Wednesday.

The Beeld newspaper named the friend as Dean Jones.

He was shot dead outside his house in Inanda, Johannesburg, on Sunday, said police spokeswoman Kym Cloete.

“(His wife) arrived at their residence and was approached by two males, both armed,” said Cloete.

The armed men banged on her car window and she tried to flee.

“(She) drove into the garage and the suspects followed,” said Cloete.

Jones approached the car and the armed men fired at him.

He died on the scene.

“The suspects fled without taking anything,” said Cloete.

Police were investigating a case of murder.
