Durban - A Bolivian student accused of drug trafficking has been declined bail at the Verulam Magistrate’s Court.
Juan Carloz Abizahao, 30, was expected to apply for bail on Wednesday, but abandoned his application because he said he did not have anyone to pay his bail for him.
Abizahao was arrested at King Shaka International Airport on November 5 with 2kg of cocaine worth R600 000 concealed in his suitcase.
Magistrate Ruby Poobalan adjourned the matter to late January.
Abizahao had arrived in the country on a flight from Brazil via Dubai.
