Johannesburg - Home Affairs Minister Naledi Pandor's brother has been robbed at gunpoint outside his home in Killarney, Johannesburg, it was reported on Sunday.

“... Two suspects were arrested, but released later due to insufficient evidence,” Gauteng police spokesman Brigadier Neville Malila told the Sunday World.

The newspaper reported that Pandor's brother Zolani Mathews and another man took a taxi home from OR Tambo International Airport last week. They were followed by a Volkswagen Polo with no number plates.

Outside Mathews' home, two men got out of the car. One of them pulled out a gun, ordered Mathews and his friend to lie on the ground and threatened to shoot them if they did not co-operate.

“Those guys opened the boot of the taxi, took their belongings and disappeared,” a friend of Mathews told the newspaper. - Sapa
