Cape Town - Three men accused of killing a Saldanha woman with a panga appeared in the Western Cape High Court on Friday.

Marlon van Wyk, Ricardo Williams, and Jerome Januarie appeared before Judge Robert Henney on charges of killing 32-year-old Sinodia Schutt last year.

Henney asked where their co-accused, Sharif Padayachee, was.

Prosecutor Romay van Rooyen said she was told he was en-route to the court.

Henney issued a provisional warrant of arrest and said his bail would be forfeited if he failed to offer an explanation for his absence and missed the next appearance.

The matter was postponed for another pre-trial conference on June 20. The trio would remain in custody.

The men stand accused of killing Schutt last February by smashing her jaw and slashing her with a panga.

Schutt had reportedly been in the process of trying to evict people from her home at the time of her death.
