Cape Town - Convicted murderers Jade Wyngaard and Nurshad Davids were refused parole on Wednesday at the Drakenstein prison in the Western Cape.

The two were found guilty of the murder of actor Brett Goldin and his fashion designer friend, Richard Bloom.

Bloom and Goldin were hijacked, robbed and then shot in the head in Mowbray, Cape Town in 2006 after they had left a party in the Camps Bay area.

The killers were each jailed for 12 years and have so far served six years.

Western Cape correctional services spokesman Simphiwe Xaku said Wyngaard and Davids would have another opportunity to seek parole in July next year.

"Their application to be granted parole was dismissed on Wednesday. The new corrections services act requires that they appear once a year before the parole board; (it's) standard procedure."

This was the second time Wyngaard and Davids were denied parole. Their first attempt was in November last year. - Sapa
