Johannesburg - A Soweto pastor has been arrested for the rape of a woman who told police he had forced her to have sex with him three times in his church and in a locked room, police said on Saturday morning.
The woman reported him to Jabulani Police immediately after allegedly being released on Friday night, after which the pastor, who is around 30 years' old and from Zola, was arrested, said spokesman Warrant Officer Kay Nakhubele.
He said that early on Friday morning the pastor had allegedly summoned 29-year-old woman to his church in Zola to return her cell phone that he had borrowed, then threatened to strangle her if she screamed when he raped her.
Nakhubele said the woman had been taken for a medical check and was receiving counselling from police professionals. - Sapa
