George - An elderly couple has been attacked in their home in Wilderness, Western Cape police said on Tuesday.

On Saturday, an 82-year-old pensioner and his 73-year-old wife were assaulted and robbed just before midnight, Captain Bernadine Steyn said.

“The elderly man and his wife both sustained open wounds during the incident.”

They were taken to a local hospital. The four attackers ran away with two cellphones and money. No arrests had been made. - Sapa
