Durban - “I am just praying, I just have to have faith and believe in God.” Those were the words of the 29-year-old Pinetown man alleged to be part of a trio of suspects in a Durban child pornography ring, recently bust by police and US Homeland Security.
All three appeared in court on Wednesday. The 29-year-old was released on R3 500 bail.
The trio have been charged with accessing, sharing, downloading and distributing child pornography. One also faces charges of rape, sexual assault, sexual exploitation of a child, grooming and using a child for pornography. Police seized illicit images of a neighbour’s 6-year-old during the raid on his home.
Another may face further charges, including conspiracy to commit rape.
