Two police constables accused of illegally dealing in platinum were granted bail of R1000 each by the Polokwane Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, Limpopo police said.

The case was postponed until April 18, 2012, said Lt-Col Ronel Otto.

Tebogo Motau, 28, and Rudzani Nefuri, 27, were arrested after a tip-off that they were allegedly looking for buyers of platinum valued at R1.2 million.

Motau is attached to the visible policing unit and Nefuri is a member of the police's tactical response team. - Sapa
