Pretoria - A Hoërskool Suiderberg teacher has been suspended for alleged sexual misconduct, the Gauteng Department of Education has said.
The teacher was suspended after being accused of touching a teenage boy inappropriately.
The boy had been cutting himself and was receiving treatment when he revealed to specialists that the teacher touched him inappropriately.
Criminal charges have been laid against the teacher.
Police spokesman Bonginkosi Msimango said reports had been submitted to prosecutors who would decide whether or not to prosecute the teacher.
