Johannesburg - Drugs with an estimated street value of R19.5 million were seized at O R Tambo international airport in Johannesburg on Friday, the SA Revenue Service said.
The drugs were concealed in hair-piece packages from Nigeria, spokeswoman Marika Muller said in a statement.
“Those packages contained crystal methamphetamine ('tik') weighing a total of 65kg, with a value of R19.5 million.
“This is one of the biggest ever seizures of crystal methamphetamine at OR Tambo,” Muller said.
The drugs were handed over to the police.
