Johannesburg - Heavy rains stopped the Boksburg Magistrate Court's inquest on Thursday into the death of suspended crime boss Richard Mdluli's love rival.
Magistrate Jurg Viviers postponed the matter to Friday, and said it was difficult to hear the witness and the lawyers when it rained.
“The witness has to come back tomorrow 1/8Friday 3/8. This rain is making it difficult to communicate,” he said.
The court is holding an inquest into Oupa Ramogibe's death 13
years ago.
Lerato Sebalo, Ramogibe's former girlfriend, testified on Thursday about the events leading up to his death.
The inquest heard that Mdluli threatened to kill Ramogibe on various occasions if he did not stay away from Tsidi Buthelezi.
The inquest will determine whether to reinstate criminal charges against Mdluli, Samuel Dlomo, Colonel Nkosana Sebastian Ximba, and Lt-Col Mtunzi-Omhle Mthembeni Mtunzi.
Charges of intimidation, kidnapping, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit murder were provisionally withdrawn against them in February, pending the outcome of the inquest.
At the time of the crime in 1999, Mdluli was the branch commander of the Vosloorus police station. - Sapa
