Pretoria - Reeva Steenkamp's mother June and other family members sat at a fast food place across the High court in Pretoria for a lunch break of Oscar Pistorius's murder trial on Monday.

Steenkamp, dressed in black pants and a white top, sat drinking tea and talking to those around her as photographers took photos at a distance.

On the screen in front of her, a recap of the court proceedings were playing.

Monday was the second time June Steenkamp attended the murder trial.

Reeva Steenkamp's cousin Kim Martins and her husband were sitting with June and a member of the African National Congress Women's League, dressed in her green and black attire.

She left court shortly before the tea break as Warrant officer Barend van Staden took the court through photos of the crime scene.

She stood up and was escorted out of court as a photo of Pistorius, covered in blood, appeared on the TV screens in court.

June Steenkamp briefly returned during the tea break but left again.

Law-graduate Steenkamp was shot dead in Pretorius's Pretoria home on February 14 last year.

At his bail hearing last year, Pistorius submitted he thought she was an intruder.
