Johannesburg - KwaZulu-Natal police are offering a R100 000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the gunmen who killed ANC councillor Wandile Mkhize in Margate on Saturday.
“A white Toyota Tazz/Conquest was seen fleeing Forest Road in Margate shortly after the shots were fired,” Colonel Vincent Mdunge said.
“Anyone who has information is requested to contact the investigating officers - Warrant Officer Gideon Carstens on 039-688-2300 or Lieutenant Colonel Msizi Nyuswa on 082-411-6024.”
Mkhize, the ANC's chief whip in the Ugu district municipality, was killed in a drive-by shooting on Saturday at around 10pm.
Mkhize and a friend were walking along a road when they came under attack from gunmen in a car. Mkhize was shot dead while his companion sustained critical injuries.
