An rhino has been killed in Mossel Bay, Western Cape police said on Friday.

Captain Malcolm Pojie said the body of a rhino bull was found on a smallholding in Da Gama's Kop on Wednesday, about a kilometre from the main road.

“It seems like this was done by a well-organised group. We found the bull, who was four to six years old, was darted before the horns were taken off the skull.”

No arrests had been made. The Hawks had taken over the investigation, Pojie said. – Sapa
