Johannesburg - A suspected robber was shot on Friday after he allegedly stole jewellery and a cellphone in Roodepoort, Gauteng police said.
The man used a window to gain entrance to a house in Malan Avenue, Florida Park, Captain Doniah Mothutsane said.
The owner of the house went outside and called for help.
Police who were working in the area shot the robber in the leg.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was in a stable condition, Mothutsane said.
