The Hawks are investigating a daring robbery in which nearly R10 million was stolen from a security company.

Sources tells the Daily Voice that several balaclava-clad armed men cleaned out the main vault at G4S’s depot in Brackenfell.

Now questions are being asked about how the robbers knew that amount of cash was on the premises.

There are suspicions that the heist at 11pm on Monday was an inside job.

Sources says this could be the reason why the robbers got access to a building equipped with the most sophisticated security.

The Hawks’ spokesperson McIntosh Polela says the thieves were well organised.

He says that the robbers tied up staff and entered the building’s main vault before filling vehicles with cash.

Polela explains: ”One of the vehicles, a white bantam bakkie, was found abandoned 300m from the scene and another was found somewhere in Mitchell’s Plain.”

He says cops are looking for the men and the millions.
